After a separation of any length, efforts to welcome someone home are always appreciated. Show how much you care with heart-shaped notes, a playful and affectionate mode of communication. They are easy to make and easy to use; recycled paper favors are also good for the environment and send an extra-thoughtful message. See the ideas below and customize your own welcome-home greeting with whatever details suit your needs.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Colored paper
  •
Magazines and newspapers
  •
Scissors
  •
Markers or pens
  •
Decorative art supplies (glitter, stickers, etc.)
  •
Glue
  1. Step 1

Decide how you want to present the heart shapes. A few large hearts that function as greeting cards? A handful of small ones scattered about the room?

  2. Step 2

Use scissors to cut hearts from paper and cut images or letters from old magazines to decorate the hearts.

  3. Step 3

Write a message on the hearts or use letters and words cut from magazines or newspapers glued on to communicate your ideas.

  4. Step 4

Decorate the hearts with glitter or other decorative crafty items.

  5. Step 5

Scatter the hearts in places you know your friend will find them. Put one in the fridge, in the bathroom medicine cabinet and in boxes of cereal you know your friend likes. This way, the fun goes on and on and the welcome lasts longer.
