Step 1
Try to always be with your dog when you are training him to go outside. If you can, have family members and friends continue the training when you aren't there.

Keep your dog on a leash and nearby at all times.

Watch your dog for signs of having to go. If your dog is sniffing around, turning in circles, squatting or whining, it might mean that she has to go.

As soon as he has to go, take him outside to a predetermined spot and wait for him to do his business.

Once your dog has gone outside, praise her. This will let her know that she did the right thing by waiting to go outside.

Don't shout at or hit your dog for going on the floor. All dogs have accidents when they are learning to go outside. If you shout, you might cause the dog to just sneak off into another room.

If you can not supervise your dog at all times, consider getting a kennel to lock him in when you are gone. This will keep him from thinking that it is OK to go in the house.

When your dog does have an accident, clean it up with an enzyme cleaner designed specifically for removing pet odor. This will stop your dog from smelling where she went and going there again.
