Everyone has playing cards. Yes, even you. (If you don't, go buy some at once!) Since you have cards, you may as well know how to throw them. Whether you throw them into a hat, onto a table, or at someone is entirely up to you.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Playing cards.
  1. Step 1

For a short toss, you'll want to to grip the card between your thumb and forefinger about halfway along the short edge. Then gently release the card as you push it forward. This kind of throw will not allow for much distance or power, but is somewhat accurate.

  2. Step 2

For a longer toss, hold the card with your forefinger pressing inward to hold the upper right corner of the card, while your thumb and middle finger sandwich the card slightly more towards the middle.

  3. Step 3

For a more powerful toss, instead place the card between your index and middle fingers, such that they cut off a tiny triangle of the upper right corner.

  4. Step 4

Regardless of whether you have followed step 2 or 3 for a grip, to throw the card, simply curl your fingers inwards so the card retreats towards your palm, then extend them while releasing the card in a quick flicking motion.

Tips & Warnings
  • Throwing cards is a great use for decks that are no longer full.
  • Like anything that you throw, be careful when throwing cards at people
