You've got the waders, tackle, rod, bait, and initiative to get up bright and early. Putting that tiny piece of bait on the end of your hook is the only step between you and a fresh fish dinner.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Make sure the hook is tied tightly to the line.

  2. Step 2

Decide on the bait. There are many kinds, broken into live and artificial bait.

  3. Step 3

Baiting a hook with a live worm is not difficult. Insert the hook in the middle of the worm and wrap the worm around the hook. The worm should look like a ball with just a bit of it hanging from the hook.

  4. Step 4

Bait your hook with a minnow. Take the minnow and insert the hook near the head of the minnow. Push the hook all the way through the minnow.

  5. Step 5

Use artificial bait. Baiting with artificial bait varies depending on the bait. The simplest ones have a loop on them and a hook inserted. All that is required is to tie your line using the small loop on the bait.
