Photocopy important documents and keep the copies separate from the originals in case the originals are lost. You can rent bicycles in Siem Reap for only a dollar a day as another and easier means to see the sites. Or, rent a tuk tuk for the day.
While Cambodia is not dangerous there is a lot of poverty, keep all valuables on your person at all times. Never walk off of trails or roads as there are still some land mines left over from the Khmer Rouge occupation.
