Want to get the most out of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade experience? Then read on to learn how to fully enjoy the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Watch the parade at home. Going down to see it in person involves arriving battling crowds and arriving hours ahead of time to get a spot on the route where you can see anything. Plus, in November you always run the risk of it being uncomfortably cold and/or windy. Being able to watch it in the comfort of your own home is honestly the best option.
Step2
If you are traveling or preparing the turkey during the nine to 12 traditional parade time slot, tape or TiVo the parade so you can watch it much easier later on the day/evening. Being able to fast forward through the commercials make it much more enjoyable, and you don't have to feel rushed to catch your favorite celebrities and floats.
Step3
Should you choose to brave the crowds and the elements and see it live, see if you have connections to view the parade from one of the buildings along the parade route. This will allow you to be warm and elevated for the best viewing options.
Step4
The night before the parade is also a good time to head into the parade area to watch them blow up the floats for the next day. Also a popular activity for many to attend, it is still less populated then the actual parade itself and allows for a unique behind-the-scenes aspect to the parade.
