1
Clear any cobwebs before beginning.
-
2
To avoid constantly moving a ladder around the room, try using a clean mop to reach the ceiling. Make sure the handle is long enough to easily reach the ceiling. Adjustable length mops are available.

3
Be careful when choosing a cleaner. The material is likely to fall on you so don't use anything that will be harmful to the skin or eyes.
-
4
Lay down a drop cloth. Gravity will be working against you and drips are likely.

Starting in one corner, work your way around the room. Once you have gone a few feet, rinse the mop.

Tips & Warnings
If the ceiling is extremely dirty, you may be happier with a new coat of paint. Simply mopping the ceiling may not be enough to get it completely clean.
