How to view photos in ipod linux

iPod Linux is an open-source project for porting Linux to the iPod. The application currently works on the iPod Touch, any of the iPod Shuffles and almost all iPod generations. If you would like to view images on your iPod, you can do it using iPod Linux. Read on to learn how to do this.

• <br>Easy Graphic Converter by Etrusoft

1. Download iPod Linux (See Resources below for the download link) and install it onto your iPod. Set up your iPod for disc use. Create a folder on your iPod and give it a name, for example "Photos."

2. Visit the etrusoft.com website (See Resources below) and download their Easy Graphic Converter. Save the application to your hard drive.

3. Open the Easy Graphic Converter. Use Windows Explorer to locate the photos you would like to view on your iPod. Add the files to the Easy Graphic Converter list. You can do this by dragging and dropping the files.

4. Click on the "Settings" button. Now set the Output format to a JPEG format. Set the quality to 75 and "Bits Per Pixel" at 24. Click on the "Best fit" button. Change the height to 128 and the width to 160. Set the output directory to the "Photos" directory on your iPod, delete the File name suffix, and click "OK."

5. Convert your files by clicking on "Start." Click on "Yes" when you are prompted with the option to save a report. Save the file in your iPod's "Notes" folder. (This file can always be deleted later on). Close the Easy Graphic Converter. Now eject the iPod and boot it up into iPod Linux.

6. Choose "File Browser" and then click on the "Select" button. Choose "hp" and then click on the select button. Choose "Photos" and then click on the "Select" button. This is where your photos are. Just click on one to view it.

Tips & Warnings

• iPod Linux will automatically re-size the photos. However, when you use the Easy Graphic Converter, your pictures will be smaller in size and not only will they not be distorted, but they will load faster too.
• <br>Trying to view large-size photos using iPod Linux will merely distort them; it is best to use smaller images.
• If you have a 4g iPod, many of your images may not look good because this particular iPod can only display 4 grayscales.
