Things You'll Need:
- Rabbit
-
Rabbit treats
-
Rabbit toys
-
Step 1
Sit near your rabbit with a treat in your hand. You should be no more than a few feet away.
-
Step 2
Call out a command such as "here" or "come" and the bunny's name while holding out the treat.
-
Step 3
If the rabbit comes, repeat the command and verbally praise the rabbit. If not, try again later.
-
Step 4
Repeat the process several times from very close to the rabbit. Be patient; rabbits sometimes take a while to get it.
-
Step 5
As the rabbit learns to come when called every time, try it from a little further away. You should still be somewhere within a few feet of the rabbit.
-
Step 6
Over the next few weeks, you can move further and further away until the rabbit will come from anywhere in the room.
-
Step 7
As the rabbit learns to follow the command, you can vary the positive reinforcement. Praise and pet the rabbit, and give him toys or things to chew on. You have now successfully trained your bunny to come when called.

on 11/10/2009 I've read that rabbits under a year should not have treats because their bodies cannot handle them yet. is there a way i could train him without the use of treats or basically using only pellets or hay?
