Baseball caps can get very dirty. They are rather easy to clean, though. Here is how you can wash a baseball cap by hand.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Laundry detergent
  • <br>Old toothbrush
  1. Step 1

Fill your sink with lukewarm to warm water.

  2. Step 2

Add about 1/4 cup of laundry detergent to the water. Only use laundry detergent with bleach on baseball caps that are white. Otherwise you will stain your baseball cap. It's alright to eyeball it if you don't have any measuring utensils at your disposal.

  3. Step 3

Place the baseball cap in the sink. Let the cap sit in the water for about a half hour or so.

  4. Step 4

Use the old toothbrush to scrub the baseball cap while leaving the hat in the water. You'll want to scrub particularly hard in the areas where the hat is stained.

  5. Step 5

Rinse all the soap thoroughly off of the baseball cap.

  6. Step 6

Hang the baseball cap in a dry space or in front of a fan in order to dry the cap. You may want to wash your baseball cap in the evening so that it can dry overnight.

Tips & Warnings
  • Avoid placing your baseball cap in a washing machine or a clothes dryer. Regardless of what settings you use, placing a baseball cap in either of these machines is always a risk.
