The Super Bowl is one of the most watched events on television today. Literally millions from all over the globe tune in for it, but it is not just the game they are tuning in to see; it is the Super Bowl commercials also. These are top spots in advertising and offer some of the best commercials ever made. So, maybe you are not “into the game," but you love the commercials. Why not throw a Super Bowl commercial party?

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Television(s)
  •
DVR, TIVO (or other recording devices)
  •
Food and drinks
  •
Invitations
  1. Step 1

Locate the date the Super Bowl is being held on. Of course, it will always be on a Sunday and most likely the first Sunday in February, but you need to check. You can easily find this out from NFL's official website (See Resources), since they will have the date set far in advance.

  2. Step 2

Decide on a location. It will matter how many guests you have, as to where you can have it. It also depends on if you want to actually pay money and rent a location, or have it in your home or other “free” location. The key point to remember is to have it somewhere you are happy with, no matter where that may be. As long as you provide plenty of comfy seats, ample food and drinks, you will keep your Super Bowl guests content.

  3. Step 3

Create your guest list. Use your guest list and send invitations, far in advance of your Super Bowl commercial party. You can send your invitations through email to your online Super Bowl guests, but make sure you snail mail them to people who do not have computers.

  4. Step 4

Get the Super Bowl party location ready. Have at least 1 TV , although 2 or more TVs will allow you to have “live" as well as “recorded” commercials being shown at the same time. Make certain all of the guests will be able to easily see the Super Bowl commercials. If you have a DVR device, have it set to record. This way you can rewind and watch the commercials again and again. If you do not have one of these, a VCR will still do the trick.

  5. Step 5

Decorate your party with Super Bowl party decorations. The supply of Super Bowl items has increased in recent years, presenting you several choices. Include a number of appropriate party games to keep your guest occupied while the commercials are not on.

  6. Step 6

Provide plenty of food and drinks, for the duration of the party. You can do all of this yourself, or it may be helpful to have your guests each pitch in and bring something. You should include as many of the “favorite” Super Bowl party foods that you can, such as: numerous chips and dips, hot dogs and hamburgers, beans, various salads, cheese and crackers, and vegetable or other type of snack trays. Make sure you include several types of beverages for your party guests also. Once every thing is taken care of --back, relax and enjoy all of the Super Bowl commercials!

Tips & Warnings
  • It may be a good idea to ask for RSVPs on your invitations, so you will know how many guests to prepare for.
