Things You'll Need:

  • Comfortable shoes
  1. Step 1

The first step in walking confidently is to lift your chin. Looking down at the ground makes your look shy and withdrawn.

  2. Step 2

Pull back your shoulders and never slouch while you are walking. This makes you look weak. Slouching can also cause your abdomen to poke out, making your look heavier than you are.

  3. Step 3

Tighten your abdominal muscles. Visualize your belly button flat against your spine. A tight core will hold your back steady and straight. A tight core can also relieve pressure on your knees an help relieve lower back pain.

  4. Step 4

Take full long strides. Short strides will make you look indecisive whereas long strides project confidence.

  5. Step 5

Keep your eyes up and be aware of your surroundings. Make eye contact with the people that you pass.
