One of the most simple ways to treat and manage acne is with a healthy skincare routine. A three-step skincare routine, comprised of a cleanser, toner and moisturizer, is all it takes to keep skin clear of bacteria and buildup. It will also deep clean the pores on a daily basis. Toner is an essential part of this system and keeps pores free of toxins and dirt so that skin stays healthy. Here's how to use toner to treat acne and other skin problems.

  1. Step 1

Wash your face with cleanser. Use a foaming cleanser on your face and neck to remove makeup, dirt and oils.

  2. Step 2

Dry your face. Pat your face dry with a clean washcloth.

  3. Step 3

Prepare the cotton ball. Pour a quarter-size amount of toner onto the cotton ball.

  4. Step 4

Apply the toner. Wipe the cotton ball across your face, paying extra attention to the nose and forehead areas.

  5. Step 5

Leave the toner to set. Let the toner dry on your face for at least one to two minutes before applying moisturizer and makeup.
