Things You'll Need:
- Ice pack
-
Acetaminophen
-
Vitamin C
-
Wash cloth
-
Plastic bags
-
Step 1
As soon as the eye injury occurs, start apply ice to the area. If you don't have an ice pack, take a plastic zip top bag and fill with ice. Wrap the bag in a hand towel and apply to the eye. Leave it on your eye for 15 minutes and then remove for another 15 minutes. Repeat and do as often as possible for a two days.
-
Step 2
Take some acetaminophen as directed on the package. This will ease the pain and help the blood flow.
-
Step 3
Consume Vitamin C. Getting the vitamin from food is the best method, so eat green leafy vegetables, citrus fruits, strawberries and melon.
-
Step 4
After two days, switch to a warm compress. If you don't have a compress you can put in the microwave, take a wash cloth and soak it in very warm water. Place the cloth in a plastic zip top bag and wrap in a towel. Just like with the cold compress, leave it on for 15 minutes and remove for 15 minutes. Repeat for a day or two.
-
Step 5
After using the compresses, you may want to moisturize the area more than usual. Look for a lotion with vitamin A because it will help you skin heal.
