Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Keep in mind that a good party must be well planned. First, sit down with your teen and think of how you want the party to be like. Is it themed--Hannah Montana, video game or 70s party? Think about the type of guests you are inviting and if they share the similar interests as you do. The one thing everyone will have a good time with, board games, Scavenger Hunt or Spin the Bottle--if both girls and boys are invited.
Step2
Do something different instead the traditional partying at the house. Make the party even more interesting by renting out a place so your teen and all of his/her guests can have endless hours of fun. Some great places are a roller skating rink or a movie theater specifically one with a restaurant or a bowling alley. At least you and your child do not have to worry about cleaning up pile of trash afterwards.
Step3
Know that a party isn't a party without good music and food. You can serve variety of foods for the guests--hot dogs, pizzas, cheeseburgers, barbecue ribs (if the party is outside) chips or nachos in dip. Have non-alcohol drinks root beer, punch, lemonade and for dessert a large sheet cake or if you can get one, a chocolate ice cream fondue with small scoops of ice cream and strawberry surrounding the pot. For the music, let your teen choose the songs and make sure it is the type of genre(s) everyone loves and there is no vulgarity in it. Turn the volume up (but not loud blaring music ) so everyone is pumped and want to dance.
Step4
Dance and sing the night away. Now you have the good music, naturally everyone will start to dance on the floor or sing their lungs out. Keep everyone interests by holding so a dance competition ending with the best two dancers competing in a dance-off. Or have a karaoke hour for guest who want to sing their favorite songs. You can have cool prizes for those who win the dancing or singing competition--it can be a CD, movie or a nice hat.
