How to Record a Program on Your Dish Network DVR

One of the best features Dish Network ever created is the receiver and HD DVR rolled up into one. You can record a program easily while watching another show and later view it at whatever time you wish.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Dish Network receiver/DVR
  • <br>Dish Network satellite
  • <br>Remote control
  • <br>TV
  1. Step 1

    Press the "Guide" button on the remote control then find the program you wish to record on the HD DVR system. When you finally found the show, you can either press "Select" or the "Record" button.

  2. Step 2

    You will see a another screen where it says "Create Timer." On the right side, press "Create Timer"-- it will take only a few seconds for the DVR to locate the program on the guide.

  3. Step 3

    The "Create Timer" page will automatically close and you will see a small green or blue button indicating that the show is either recording at the moment or set to record at a specific time.

  4. Step 4

    If you want confirmation that your program is set to record, press the "DVR" button three times. You will see the "My Daily Schedule" screen, so scroll down and find the program of your choice.

Tips & Warnings
  • To stop a recording, press "DVR" three times and you will see the "My Daily Schedule" again. Find the show you want deleted then press the "Select" button and on the right side of the screen, press the "Skip" button. You will see a line on the tittle of the program scratched out, letting you know the recording is canceled.
