How to Make a Self-Lining Garbage Can
This is a neat trick that can spare you precious time and frustration in the kitchen, particularly when you're seriously busy. Just like the next tissue pops right out of the box when you take one away, you can equip your garbage can to re-line itself just as easily.

- Clean, empty garbage can
- <br>Several appropriately sized garbage bags

Open up an empty garbage bag and shake some air into it. Put it into your trash can as you normally would, but take a moment to push out as much air as possible from in between the garbage bag and the inner walls of the trash can.

Open a second garbage bag and put it in the can right on top of the first bag. Again, try to push out some of the air before turning the edge of the bag over the rim of the trash can.

Continue adding layers of bags and pushing out the air. No matter what size can you have or what type of bag you use, you can probably fit at least five bags in the can at once. Larger cans can easily hold several more.

When you're done, fill the top bag with garbage just as you normally would. The weight of the garbage will help push out any air that remains trapped between the layers. When the bag is full, tie of the top bag and lift it out. The next clean, empty bag is already installed and ready to go.

Tips & Warnings
Some bags trap more static than others. If your bags trap lots of static, they may cling together so tightly that one or more bags will come out of the can along with the filled top bag. Switching to a type of bag that traps less static will make this less likely to happen.
