Telling if people are lying can be simple if you know what to look for.

Things You'll Need:

  • This guide, and some practice.
  1. Step 1

    Check for eye contact. Look them into the eyes. If they look away, it can be a sign of deception.

  2. Step 2

    Crossing arms and or legs is a defensive instinct. This can be a sign of lying.

  3. Step 3

    The stress from lying can make a persons pupils get smaller.

  4. Step 4

    If someone is putting their hands on their face and especially their mouth, they are trying to cover up their lye.

  5. Step 5

    Faster talking then normal is another sign of lying. They are trying to get the lye out quickly.

  6. Step 6

    When answer a question yes, and bobing their head as if answering no or visa-versa is a very good sign that the person is lying.

  7. Step 7

    Finally mumbling and mispronouncing of words is a good sign of lying.

Tips & Warnings
  • These tips are not a sure method of telling if someone is lying. However they can are useful.

on 9/26/2009 not very useful for some. As a practiced liar, o can basically pull off most, if not every lie i tell. Its more of turning yourself off to morallity. I have actually acheived a state were i can switch between having a coinsciouss and not haveing any morals. SO BEWARE of anyone like me.
