Make a Mother's Day Gift for Mom
Make a Mother's Day Gift for Mom

Every Mother's Day people spend hours looking for that perfect gift. Where are last year's gifts now? Give Mom something she'll appreciate. A hand made gift filled with love is just the thing. Here's some ideas to help you get started.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Scrap Book Photo Album

    1. Create a special book showing all the kids or grandkids.
    2. Choose a theme for your book and decorate the cover to show your theme.
    3. Go to an ancestry website to find old photos or documents to include as a surprise.

  2. Step 2

    Felt Throw

    1. Buy 2 sheets of felt in the size you want the throw to be.
    2. Cut strips 2 inches wide and 4-5 inches long all the way around both sheets.
    3. Lay one felt sheet on top of the other.
    4. Now tie the strips you cut on one sheet to the strips you cut on the other. This will hold the throw together.
    5. Add photos using computer transfer paper to iron on photos.

  3. Step 3

    Live Flowers

    1. Spending money on flowers that will die in a few weeks is such a waste. Plant live flowers for Mom to enjoy all year long.

  4. Step 4

Day Trip with Kids or Friends

    1. If your Mother has adult children this could be a family trip, if she has young children you may want to make it a girls day out with her friends while you get a baby sitter for the kids.

    2. Day trips can be found through your local community college, city hall, or on the internet.

    3. Day trips include travel, meals, and activities so all you have to do is show up at a specific day and time and off you go on your trip.

    4. I've taken day trips and night trips that include: Mystery Dinner Theater, Ghost Hunting, Train Robberies, and more.

    5. You can create your own day trip to include a winery, hiking trip, flower seeing, bird watching, or a picnic.

on 5/6/2008 I love making homemade gifts. One year I found some inexpensive votive holders and decorated the outside with dried flowers. I've also made chocolates and homemade soaps in the past. Chocolates go over VERY well! :)
