How to Make A Fourth Of July Flower - Craft For Kids

This is an easy and fun flower craft to get younger US children into the spirit for July 4th. It uses simple paper strips to create a red, white, and blue flower to hang on walls or doors.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• 6 strips - red construction paper, 8x1 inch
• 6 strips - blue construction paper, 8x1 inch
• glue, tape, or staples
• 1 circle - white construction paper, 2x2 inch
• glitter glue
• scissors
• shiny star stickers, markers, crayons (optional)

1. Have child loop each paper strip in half, then glue, tape, or staple the ends together. Repeat with each paper strip.

2. Have child decorate the round white circle with glitter glue, markers, crayons, or stickers.

3. Have child glue or tap each looped paper "petal" to the undecorated side of the white circle. Have child place petals around circle like flower petals around the flower center. Let dry.

4. Use glitter glue, glitter spray, or any other kind of sparkling addition and allow children to further decorate the flower, then let flowers dry and hang on wall or door.
