Since the Bronze Age, brooches were one of the earliest forms of jewelry. We'll discuss brooches & matching them to the mom. Better read on & remember Mom for "M" Day!

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • A mom
  • Cash money

Step1
Classic Cameo Brooch All mothers want a brooch to wear on their coat, jacket or blouse. Simply attaching it to the mom & wearing it insures positive comments regarding your thoughtfulness & (hopefully) taste. Pairing the right brooch to the mother takes a little thought & planning.
Step2
Nothing sez Lovi'n Like the 3 The Bling Mom:
She wants big, bold bright brooches. Go Directly to Rhinestones. We are talking a brooch at least 2" in diameter. Choose her favorite colors. Prepare to hear compliments. Again, I repeat, this is only a gift for the bling mom, otherwise your gift goes to the next church sale & you are gonna have to find a really good compensation gift. Quick.
Step3
The Vintage Filagree Butterfly Brooch Nature Mom:
She loves gardening & the great outdoors. She can resurrect the house plants you continually try to kill. She owns bird feeders & knows how to use them. Any brooch of a bird or butterfly should make her smile. Home run for you!
Step4
Great Sterling Design Brooch Fashion/Style Mom:
The elegant designer look or the classical circle brooch ( for the less adventurous)is a good brooch choice. She is not afraid of unusual, modern stuff. Just don't slide over to the cute poodle side. Anything in silver/gold abstract design & artsy should work.
Step5
Vintage Pink Rabbit Brooch Fun & Quirky:

Something to make her smile is what you want to buy. Vintage plastics, retro designs, unusual distinctive brooches to draw a comment. "My son bought me this and I love it". That's what you want to hear.
Step6
Victorian Painted Violets Porcelain Brooch Sweet, Romantic Mom:

She reads the "pink" mags, there are dried flowers in the house. She loves Victorian stuff. Easy enough- buy her a Victorian brooch. The brooch was the supreme Victorian female emblem. There is a great selection of Victorian brooches and most are quite affordable.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure you wrap the brooch & include a sentimental card for extra "Mom" points!
