You are at a public store when your baby starts screaming and you need to prepare a baby bottle fast. Where can you heat it? Where can you mix the formula? A little preparation before you leave home can help save your sanity and your ears. How do you prepare a baby bottle in public?

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A baby bottle
  • Hot water
  • A small container
  • Baby formula
  • A diaper bag
  1. Step 1
Sectioned formula container with lid off and baby bottle filled with hot water
Sectioned formula container with lid off and baby bottle filled with hot water

Measure the correct amount of powdered baby formula to prepare one baby bottle into a small container If you have a sectioned container measure the correct amount into each slot. (For example: If your baby is drinking 6 ounces of formula at a time, then you need to measure 3 scoops into each slot or each small container.)

  2. Step 2

Fill one or two bottles with the correct amount of really hot water. (In the example in step one we would put 6 ounces of water into each bottle.) Screw the top onto the bottles.

  3. Step 3

Place the bottles next to each other in the diaper bag as this will help keep them warm.

  4. Step 4

Unscrew the lid and add the premeasured formula to the already warm water when your baby needs a bottle.

  5. Step 5

Shake the bottle thoroughly. Make sure it isn't too warm, and serve.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you will be gone all day, placing the warm bottles in an insulated bag will keep them warm longer.
  • Make sure the water isn't too hot when serving to baby.
