How to show your mom you care when she is in a nursing home

Mothers who are in nursing homes may not get to go on many outings, why not give your mother something special this year by taking her on an outing away from the nursing home?

• approval from mother
• approval from nursing facility
• money if applicable
• a big heart

1. A great way to show her you care is by planning a Mother's Day party for her. She will be surprised and you can invite all of her friends and family to join in on the fun.

2. Take her to a spa or beauty salon. Mothers love to be pampered and this is a great gift for Mother's Day.

3. Maybe she needs a new outfit, take her shopping and let her pick out something to show off to the other senior citizens in the nursing home.

4. A simple walk in the park or a picnic may be all she needs for a great outing away from the nursing home.

Tips & Warnings

• mom may tire easily so keep this in mind
• take plenty of water and a snack
• let her decide what she wants to do
• some nursing homes have curfews for their residents and you should abide by their rules.
