There have been 64 cases of the Measles reported in nine states since January 1, 2008. The CDC is trying to get a hold on it before it becomes an epidemic.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Soap, Water, and Doctor

Step1
The most important way to avoid getting the Measles is to get vaccinated. The Vaccine is given as a MMR, a vaccination that provides protection against measles, mumps, and rubella.
Step2
This is the recommend schedule for vaccinating your child
The first dose is recommended at 12–15 months of age and the second dose at 4–6 years of age. ****All children should receive two doses of MMR vaccine.. Infants 6–11 months of age should receive one dose prior to travel abroad.
Step3
All adults born during or after 1957 should receive at least one dose of vaccine unless they have documented evidence of measles immunity (a blood test or a physician's diagnosis of measles).
****Two doses are recommended for all international travelers, health care personnel, and students of secondary and post-secondary educational facilities

There was a article in the New York Times where a group of Doctors suggested everyone under the age of 32 get their second measles vaccination.
Step4
Another way to help prevent or spread the measles is the good ole fashioned way by WASHING YOU HANDS and COVERING YOUR MOUTH WHEN COUGHING and SNEEZING.

It good to carry towlettes with you if are not close to a sink to wash your hands. When washing your hands always make sure you have some friction; that is the only way to ensure you have clean hands.

Tips & Warnings

  • Always speak to a Physcians about any concerns you may have regarding the measles.

on 5/22/2008 The MMR is full of problems and has been linked to autism and other disorders in children. At the very least, delay the vaccination past the child's second year. Children are far more at risk for autism than measles.
