The best way to get residual income from affiliate marketing is to find affiliate programs that pay you commission for life.

Step 1

Locate the most popular affiliate networks such as Commission Junction, Clickbank, Linkshare, and Sharasale. A simple search for affiliate networks will help you find many of them. Sign up for one, two, or all of them so you can join the affiliate programs contained therein.
Step 2

Use the affiliate network's internal search engines, do a search for affiliate programs that are subscription based. These often include magazine subscriptions, website hosting, membership programs, and recurring billing clubs such as book clubs. These affiliate programs will earn you residual income every time the customer pays the subscription fee.
Step 3

Search the affiliate network for programs that have unlimited or lifetime cookie tracking. Cooking tracking is how affiliate programs know who to pay for the customer's purchase. If you are selling items to someone and the tracking cookie is for the entire customer lifetime, every time that person buys something from the site, you will earn money from them.
