A summer picnic is not complete without slaw. This is a spicy slaw that uses carrots, broccoli and cabbage instead of the traditional cabbage based cole slaw. This crunchy and tangy slaw is like having a firecracker in your picnic basket or at the back yard BBQ,

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Bowl
  • one package broccoli slaw
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup mayonaise
  • 1 tea spoon red pepper flakes (more if you want)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • salt and pepper
  1. Step 1

In a large bowl add mayonnaise, vinegar and sugar and stir until combined. Then add the red pepper flakes and stir.

  2. Step 2

Open the package of slaw and fold it into the liquid in the bowl. Add salt and pepper to taste.

  3. Step 3

Cover and chill for at least two hours before serving. The flavors blend perfectly when chilled for at least four hours. This dish can be made the night before your event.

Tips & Warnings
  • For an even more spicy punch, add more pepper flakes
  • Make sure you blend the vinegar, mayo and sugar completely before you add the vegetables.
