Things You'll Need:

  • Substantial budget
  • Dentist referral
  • Need for implants
  • Ability to deal with healing pain
  • No fear of dental surgical procedures
  1. Step 1

Find an oral surgeon. You can either have your dentist refer you to one (recommended) or you can find one online, or in the phone book directory.

  2. Step 2

Make a preliminary appointment. Once you have found an oral surgeon make a preliminary appointment to meet with the doctor. Make sure that you ask any and all questions that you may have and make sure that you get a copy of their recovery guide.

  3. Step 3

Purchase the recovery supplies. A short trip to any drugstore will net you any of the recovery supplies that you will need.

  4. Step 4

Get a ride to the appointment. You will need to get a ride to your appointment, as you will be experiencing a minor outpatient surgery, and you will also need to get a ride home following the surgery; ask a friend or relative if they can assist you.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you are really scared of the surgical procedure you can always ask to be sedated or for nitrous oxide to help curb your fears.
  • Keep in mind that there will be some painful healing in store for you that can last one to two weeks.
