Sell Handmade Jewelry Using Your Blog

If you are trying to sell handmade jewelry, and would like more exposure for your products, try listing some of your creations on a blog. You can write about new designs and keep your customers up to date on original creations. By adding a "Buy It Now" button next to the photo and description of your pieces of jewelry, your customers can purchase items straight from your blog. Read on to learn how to sell handmade jewelry using your blog.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A blog and blog account
  • Some minor computer skills
  • Some pictures of your jewelry products
  • PayPal account
  1. Step 1

Open up a blog account at a free blogging website such as Blogger. You can then begin to personalize your blog, and add your posts as often as you want.

  2. Step 2

Create a PayPal account if you don't already have one. PayPal is free and allows you to have a free shopping cart on your website, and also allows you to accept credit cards from other users. With PayPal, you can have a "Buy It Now" button next to your jewelry products on your blog.

  3. Step 3

Create a blog post when you have created new pieces of jewelry. Describe what kinds of materials and beads that they are made from, price, and perhaps why customers would want to purchase them. Add a "Buy It Now" button from your PayPal account next to your photos for readers who might be interested in buying your jewelry.

  4. Step 4

Email your blog link to all of your recent customers, friends and family. Those who subscribe will receive a notice every time you post on your blog. Make sure you include information about your blog to new customers as well. You can also include your blog link on business cards for your jewelry business too.

Tips & Warnings
  • For any products that may not sell on your blog after a certain period of time, try selling them at auction websites such as Ebay, or handmade craft websites such as Etsy.
  • Using buttons from PayPal is very simple. Just log into your PayPal account, and copy and paste the html provided for each kind of checkout button in your merchants section of your account.
  • You may not have purchases right away when you begin your blog. It takes time, effort and plenty of marketing to get readers to subscribe to your blog. With time though, your subscribers will have easier access to your products when they can purchase new items straight off your blog.
