Sometimes it can be difficult to control excess oil in your skin. With the right regimen, which is outlined below, this daily task can be rather easy.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Oil control face cleanser
  • Astringent for oily skin
  • Cotton balls or pads
  • A Mattifying product
  • Oil-free foundation and makeup
  • Oil blotting papers
  1. Step 1

Wash your face at least twice daily, morning and night, using tepid water and an oil control facial cleanser. Use your fingertips instead of a wash cloth so that you don’t stimulate more oil production in your skin.

  2. Step 2

After washing and drying your face, sweep an astringent onto your skin by using cotton balls or pads. Only sweep over your entire face once, using a very light touch. If you are excessively oily in the T-zone area, feel free to apply the astringent twice. Follow up with your favorite oil-free lotion.

  3. Step 3

Before applying your oil-free foundation and makeup, apply a mattifying product to your oily areas. Do not apply around the eyes or on the mouth.

  4. Step 4

After applying the mattifier you can apply your oil-free foundation and makeup. When finished, place a pack of oil blotting papers in your purse or bag and head out the door.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure to wash your face at least twice a day, morning and night, using an oil control facial cleanser.
  • Apply a clay face mask 2 times a week--3 times if you are very oily--to help reduce oil and clean your pores.
  • Oily skin can use a face scrub, if needed, but the scrub should be formulated for oily skin types.
