How to Child-proof a Computer
There was a time when “child proofing the computer” meant pushing a key that froze the keyboard to prevent damage being done by curious little fingers. Today, however, children are supposed to be on the computer and often know more about usage than their parents. So child proofing means something different today. It includes allowing the child to use it while keeping both the child and the computer safe. Here are three basic tips.

Set rules. No food or drink near the computer. It is certain that something will spill and the computer could be damaged. Wash hands before using the computer to prevent second hand peanut butter and jelly from sticking to the keys. Enforce time limits. Otherwise, the kids become obsessed and you will never get your turn.

Prep the PC. Make sure all cords are in good shape and securely plugged in. Tie cables together neatly and securely to avoid tripping, snagging or accidental unplugging.
