Step 1
Treat the cause, rather than trying to cover it up. If your hair feels coarse to the touch or is visibly dry, you should go through a moisturizing regime in order to restore the hair to a healthier state. For severely damaged hair, this may mean visiting your hairdresser for a deep conditioning treatment and hair trim. For most people, however, a good hair mask will suffice.
-
Step 2
Use pomade. The thick product is especially designed to control frizz in hair that is still slightly damp. You apply it just as you would any styling product, by using your fingers to distribute it through the length but without actually touching your scalp, and then let the hair dry naturally, without using a blow-dryer.
-
Step 3
Buy products especially designed for frizzy hair. Well-known companies such as John Frieda, Sunsilk and Redken produce a variety of products aimed to control frizz, including shampoos, conditioners and sprays.
-
Step 4
Try a “homemade” cure. For deep conditioning, mix one egg and 4 tbsp. of regular mayonnaise and work into a paste. Apply to your hair and wrap with plastic or use a shower cap. Use a hot wet towel to cover everything up. Leave on for 30 minutes and then wash and style as usual.
-
Step 5
Invest on a good blow-dryer. The ones that offer anti-static drying are excellent for frizzy hair, but the most important thing is to get a dryer that is powerful enough to cut drying time as much as possible. Since heat increases frizz, the faster you can dry your hair, the better.

on 7/20/2008 Thanks a bunch for the tips. I have frizzy hair... and it is so annoying at times to style. These points are great! Thanks again.
