Things You'll Need:
- Changing pad
- Diapers
- Wet wipes
- Change of baby clothes
- Plastic bags
-
Step 1
Be prepared. Keep an extra diaper bag in the car at all times for emergencies. This should include a changing pad, wet wipes, diapers, plastic bags and a change of baby clothes.
-
Step 2
If it is warm outside, you can change the baby in the backseat, front seat or hatchback while you stand outside.
-
Step 3
If it is cold outside, you will need to sit in the front seat and place the baby in the seat next to you. You can also do this in the backseat if there is room with the car seat.
-
Step 4
Place a changing pad down underneath your baby so you don't have to worry about messes.
-
Step 5
Place dirty diapers and wipes in a plastic bag to be carried to the nearest garbage pail when you can. Also put any dirty clothes in another plastic bag to bring home and launder later.
-
Step 6
Be aware of drafts that may make your baby uncomfortable and fussy. Restock your car's diaper bag supply once a week or as needed.
