Step 1
Remove an entire clip, select it in the sequence and press the "Delete" key. You can select multiple clips at once by holding down the “Shift” key while clicking on each clip you want to select. When all of your clips are selected, press the "Delete" key.

Step 2
Use the controls in the Program Monitor to specify the range’s "In" and "Out" points to remove an entire range of frames without closing the gap first (leaving the space free to insert new frames). Then click the “Lift” button in the Program Monitor window on the lower right, the third button from the right.

Step 3
Remove an entire range of frames and close the gap (without leaving a free space) by using the controls in the Program Monitor to specify the range’s "In" and "Out" points, then click the “Extract” button. It is in the Program Monitor window on the lower right, the second button from the right.

Step 4
Choose to removes frames from the time line and close the gap by “ripple deletion.” Select one or more clips in the sequence, and then go to the Edit menu at the top of your workspace. Then select “Ripple Delete.”
