How to Decorate a Room With a Colorado Avalanche Theme

The Colorado Avalanche has quite a history despite the fact that they began playing in Denver in 1995. Their history goes all the way back to 1975 and Quebec. The Avalanche has some of the loudest and most loyal fans in all the NHL. Here is how to decorate a room with a Colorado Avalanche theme.

Instructions

    • 1

Paint the walls of your room in the colors of the Colorado Avalanche. Burgundy, blue, black, silver and white can all be found on Colorado's uniforms as well as the logo of the Avalanche. You could paint the walls in either a few of these colors or simply have one main color for your room.

    • 2

Place a large decal of the logo of the Colorado Avalanche on the main wall of your room. If you go this route, you'll want to be careful about what color you paint that wall. You won't want the logo to clash with the wall color.

Have a small memorial to the Quebec Nordiques somewhere in the room. This could be as simple as putting the Nordiques logo somewhere in the room or showing off a Quebec throwback jersey in the room. It's important to remember that the franchise did begin in Quebec and that a lot of the history of the team goes back to the Nordiques.

Find a large picture of one of the Colorado Stanley Cup teams. Frame that picture and hang it somewhere in the room. Right after a team wins the Stanley Cup, they will take a picture with the cup while on the ice. You can find these pictures either online or at a team shop.

Buy a replica banner showcasing the championships won by the Colorado Avalanche and hang it somewhere in the room. These are especially nice because if the Avalanche win another Stanley Cup, you can take the banner somewhere and have it amended to celebrate the new championship.

Purchase a Patrick Roy jersey and display it somewhere in the room. Roy will go down as possibly the greatest Colorado player of all time. His number was retired by the Avalanche in 2003. Any Colorado Avalanche room would feel empty without some sort of tribute to Patrick Roy.
