Keeping your fresh cut flowers looking beautiful is really very simple! Some treatments that don't work as well as people say are aspirin, pennies or vinegar. This simple recipe works because it's supplying the flowers with the nutrients needed to thrive.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon chlorine bleach
  • 1 quart warm water
  1. Step 1

Into an empty flower vase (appropriate for the flowers you purchased), put 1 quart of warm water. Warm water helps the food flow better through the stems. Make sure it's not too hot. No steam should be coming up. Think cool bath water.

  2. Step 2

Mix in the remaining ingredients. Stir well until sugar is dissolved.

  3. Step 3

Make sure the stems of the flowers are cut on the diagonal so they can get as much food as possible.

  4. Step 4

You can use this food instead of water or alternate plain water and food water every day or two.
