How to Make a Great Christmas Gift with Scrabble Pieces

Making this gift will take time and creativity. This is a great gift for one person or an entire family.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 Scrabble Games (original wooden version with cardboard game board)
  • Shadow box slightly larger than the board
  • Epoxy Glue or Super Glue
  • Wallet size photo of familiy or individual
  1. Step 1

    Lay down the name of the family or individual you wish to make the gift for.

  2. Step 2

    Lay down words that describe the family or individual and remember to overlap the words as you would traditionally playing scrabble.

  3. Step 3

    When you are satisfied with your finished product, glue down all the letters carefully.

  4. Step 4

    Take a digital picture of the board.

  5. Step 5

    Turn the board upside down and see if any of the pieces fall off, they will need to be reglued. This is where your digital picture comes in handy if you loose many pieces.

  6. Step 6

    Glue the picture of the family or individual onto the top left hand corner of the board over the box that explains the letter quantities and points.

  7. Step 7

    Glue the back of your board onto the inside of your shadow box.

  8. Step 8

    Put your shadow box together and wrap carefully!!!!

on 5/12/2008 What a good gift idea. You can often find old games, like Scrabble, with some pieces missing at Goodwill or garage sales, and then you wouldn't have to buy them new.
