Now you are ready to make the left lobe of your heart. Start by putting a slip knot on your hook

Row 18 part 2: As above, this row begins and ends with a decrease. Complete one decrease in the first two stitches. Regular SC across the row until you reach the last two stitches. Complete one decrease in the last two stitches. Chain one and turn. You should end up with a total of four stitches in this row.
Step22
Row 19 part 2: This row is complete with only two decreases. Complete one decrease in the first two stitches and complete one decrease in the last two stitches. Chain one and turn. You should end up with a total of two stitches in this row.

The heart part is finished, but don't snip the yarn yet!!
Step23
Starting where you just finished your last decrease, SC all around the outer edge of the heart. Stitch one SC in the space at the end of each row. It can sometimes be hard to find the right space to stitch in, so do your best in trying to stitch just one SC in each space.

When you reach the tip of the heart stitch three SC in one stitch to make a nice point. Do you remember the original three SC in your first row? Stitch your three SC increase into the middle stitch of those original three.

When you reach the cleavage of the heart complete one decrease (combine two stitches into one) to gather it in a bit.

When you reach the point where you started, snip your yarn, pull the tail through and weave it in.

Your finished!!

Tips & Warnings

  • The finished size of the heart will be dependent on the yarn and hook size you use. The bulkier your yarn is the larger your heart will be when finished.
  • This pattern begins at the bottom point of the heart. Remember to count your stitches when each row is completed to make sure it was completed correctly and that you have the correct number of stitches.
  • Make sure to chain one at the end of every row (this will be your turning chain)
  • You can leave it plain or have fun experimenting with different edgings. You may need to add some increases at the widest part of the heart when you are doing edgings.
  • You can do the following to block the heart or shape it: Place a towel over a firm pillow. Lay the heart flat and place straight pins to shape it. Mist the heart lightly with water. Allow it to dry completely and remove the pins.
