Step 1
Start to learn to bounce on stilts by finding a wall. Walls are your friend. They can help you stay upright and help you keep from falling when you're learning how to walk and bounce on stilts.
-
Step 2
Walk along the wall first, so that you get into the swing of it, moving first one way than the other. It may be review, but it doesn't hurt.
-
Step 3
Begin adding a little bounce to your step as you walk on stilts. Do this by putting more pressure on the base of the stilts. Drop your weight down, forcing the fiberglass of the stilts to flex. You'll find that your steps have a little more spring to them.
-
Step 4
Add even more weight to each step on your stilts so your bounces get a bit higher. Make sure you do this along the wall. Having that wall can save you from falling all the way down as you can grab it.
-
Step 5
Extend your stride a little more as you bounce on your stilts. This is a great way to ease into the next great step: running on your stilts. By extending your stride as you bounce on your stilts, you'll find you cover more ground.
