Nunchucks are a highly effective weapon used in most forms of martial arts. Nunchucks are constructed by linking to sticks together with a chain or rope. The double X is a move that uses both hands and two pairs of nunchucks. This is one of the first advanced moves taught in nunchucks classes.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Two sets of nunchucks
  1. Step 1

Place your hands about two inches from the top of one side of each pair of nunchucks. Swing the free nunchuck over the shoulder of the same side of the body. Separate your feet slightly.

  2. Step 2

Start making Xs with your right hand. An X is a criss-cross motion made with the free nunchuck. Start at the shoulder and cross your body diagonally. Pull your arm up to your left shoulder and cross your body diagonally again. Make big Xs at first. Move on to making small Xs with just your wrist movements.

  3. Step 3

Add the left hand in, doing Xs. Try to make the Xs small when you do them side by side.

  4. Step 4

Reach over and cross your right arm over you left while making the Xs with your wrist.

  5. Step 5

Cross the left arm over the right while making small Xs.

  6. Step 6

Continue alternating left and right arms. You can change to another nunchucks movement or catch the nunchucks to end the routine.

  7. Step 7

Push yourself to move as fast as you can. Faster double Xs look crisp and more difficult than they really are.
