By eHow Contributing Writer

Nunchucks are a versatile weapon used in many forms of martial arts. Used both offensively and defensively, many nunchuck moves are easy to put together to make into different combinations. This is the case with nunchuck flips and throws. A flip throw combo is a fundamental combination in almost all nunchuck classes.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Get into ready position with your back straight, legs slightly separated and your nunchucks in your right hand swung over your right shoulder. Grip the nunchucks in the proper place at the top of the nunchucks.

  2. Step 2

Extend your arm out and down to chest level. Turn your nunchucks as you pull. The free end of the nunchucks spins as you outstretch out your left arm level with your shoulder.

  3. Step 3

Turn your wrist quickly, forcing the nunchucks to flip over your hand. Grab it as it comes around. You now have the nunchucks upside down.

  4. Step 4

Hold the nunchucks like a pencil. Swing it under and to the left before you release the nunchucks. Watch it as it flips. This allows you time the grab right end so that you can grab the nunchucks in the proper position.

  5. Step 5

Grab the nunchucks and move it across your body, to the right side, the start position, another move or into a catch.

  6. Step 6

Practice the flip throw until your timing is perfect. You will drop it as you learn and master the move. Keep trying until you get it down.
