Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Tuck in the fabric (about a ¼ inch) on each end of your headband. This gives your finished headband a neater appearance. Then tuck one end of your headband into the other end about ½ inches.

  2. Step 2

Smooth out your fabric around the ends; make sure there are no lumps or wrinkles around the area you're about to sew. If you wish, use a straight pin to secure the two ends of the headband together while you stitch the seam.

  3. Step 3

Stitch the ends of the headband together on your sewing machine. Backstitch both ends of the seam to make it more durable. Be careful not to sew over your straight pin, if you used one.

  4. Step 4

Use scissors to clip off any loose threads. Smooth out the headband and make sure the fabric bunching is even. Your headband is now finished and ready for showing off or gifting.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you have trouble getting your sewing machine needle to stitch through the two layers of fabric and the elastic, switch to a sturdier needle.
