An important step in the creation of your polymer clay bead necklace is to measure the wire. The following steps will show you how to cut the right amount of wire for your next project.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Choose a jewelry wire that is thin enough to fit through the hole in the bead and thick enough to hold your beads and pendant.

  2. Step 2

Pull some wire out from your spool.

  3. Step 3

Wrap the wire around your neck once. Hold the wire together around your neck to decide where you would like the pendant to lie.

  4. Step 4

Cut the wire to the length you need with a pair of scissors, but leave 2-inches extra on each side to allow for the clasp.

  5. Step 5

Add a small dot with a dark-colored magic marker to mark the center of the necklace for your pendant.

  6. Step 6

String the wire with polymer clay beads to finish your necklace.
