Things You'll Need:
- Pliers
- Crimping beads
- Clasp
-
Step 1
Slip the crimping bead on the very end of your necklace. The crimping bead is small so if you have large holes in your beads, don't let it slip down the string of your necklace and get lost in the beading.
-
Step 2
Put the first half of your clasp on. Most claps are made from metal and have a small hole on one side of the clasp part. You can leave both sides of the clasp connected or you can attach each end of your clasp separately.
-
Step 3
Make a loop with your strand with the clasp on it. Whether working with beading wire or fishing line, make a small loop using your fingers or your pliers and slip the free side of the string or wire through the crimping bead so that there's about an 1/8th inch of the free side of the string coming through the crimping bead.
-
Step 4
Use pliers to flatten the crimping bead, fastening the string in place and securing the clasp.
-
Step 5
Repeat this on the other side of your necklace with the other half of your clasp. Once finished, cut off any excess string once clasps and crimping beads are secured.
