Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Draw a pattern for the pocket. Leave a 1/2 inch to fold underneath the pocket. The size and shape of the pocket depends on what you plan to put in it.

  2. Step 2

Cut the pocket out and fold the seam allowance underneath. Pin it to your bag to hold down the seam allowance and press with a hot iron.

  3. Step 3

Pin the pocket to the fabric on the inside of the bag. Turn under all of the seam allowances.

  4. Step 4

Sew all around the sides and bottom of the pocket, using backspacing as you begin and end. Sew close to the outside, within a 1/4 inch of the edge.

  5. Step 5

Remove any stray or long threads from your inside pocket. Press the pocket with a hot iron. Your pocket will help you hold items that should not come into contact with your other purchases.
