Learning to fry shrimp egg rolls correctly will assure that they're hot and tender on the inside, and golden brown and crispy on the outside. The delectable egg rolls will be perfect when combined with sesame noodles and spicy peanut sauce.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Prepared shrimp egg rolls
  • Canola oil
  • Paper towels
  • Plate
  • Tongs
  • Slotted spoon
  1. Step 1

Heat the oil in a deep fat fryer or a large soup pot. Place a few shrimp egg rolls into the hot oil. Fry only a few at a time. If you attempt to fry too many, the temperature of the oil will drop, and the egg rolls will absorb too much oil.

  2. Step 2

Deep fry the shrimp eggs rolls until they're golden brown. Turn the egg rolls over with tongs to fry the other side.

  3. Step 3

Place several layers of paper towels on a plate. Remove the deep fried shrimp egg rolls with tongs or a slotted spoon and let them drain on the paper towels while you make the sesame noodles and peanut sauce.

Tips & Warnings
  • To test the hot oil, drop a bread cube into it. If the bread browns in 1 minute, the oil is ready for deep frying. The oil should be between 350 and 375 degrees. If it's any hotter, it can burn the egg rolls.
  • Make sure the egg rolls are dry before you fry them, patting them with a paper towel, if necessary. Never allow water to come in contact with the hot oil, or it can splatter and cause severe burns.
