If you suddenly have a hankering for egg rolls and the Chinese restaurant is closed, you do have alternatives. Egg rolls are surprisingly easy to make. Here's how to cook the shrimp for your egg rolls.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Shrimp
  • Knife
  • Precooked pork filling
  • Stove top
  1. Step 1

Purchase your deveined shrimp. Deveining shrimp is tedious and time-consuming. Chop the tails off your shrimp when you get it home.

  2. Step 2

    .

  3. Step 3

Toss your shrimp into your precooked pork mixture on the stove. Your flame should be medium and the pork should be almost cooked through.

  4. Step 4

Stir and cook your shrimp until it turns reddish white. Add your cabbage mixture to the skillet, turn down the flame to a simmer and complete the remaining steps for your egg rolls.

Tips & Warnings
  • Add your shrimp to the pork filling after the pork is primarily cooked because the shrimp cooks quickly over medium heat.
  • Many people are allergic to shellfish. If you are hosting a dinner party, be sure to let people know if there are shrimp in the egg rolls. Also, consider making a second batch with just pork or vegetarian filling.
