Peanut sauce is the base for many delicious Asian dishes. The deliciously spicy sauce can be used as a dipping sauce, in salads, or blended with Asian sesame noodles. Peanut sauce can easily be made in one bowl, making clean up a snap.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 cup crunchy, unsalted peanut butter
  • Soy sauce
  • Juice of 1/2 fresh lime
  • Fresh ginger, peeled and finely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • Mirin
  • Sesame seeds
  • 1 pkg. Asian noodles
  • Fresh scallions, chopped
  1. Step 1

Put the unsalted peanut butter in a mixing bowl and add some soy sauce, mirin, dried red pepper and sesame oil to taste, with a bit of water to make the sauce smooth. Whisk the ingredients until they are thoroughly incorporated into peanut sauce.

  2. Step 2

Whisk in the lime juice, fresh ginger, minced garlic and a few sesame seeds.

  3. Step 3

Put about 2 qt. of water in a large saucepan and bring it to a rolling boil.

  4. Step 4

Break the Asian noodles in half and add them to the boiling water.

  5. Step 5

Boil the Asian noodles for about 8 minutes and drain. Place the drained noodles in a large mixing bowl.

  6. Step 6

Add the peanut sauce to the bowl of cooked noodles and toss them until all of the noodles are coated with the sauce.

  7. Step 7

Garnish the Asian noodles and peanut sauce with a few more sesame seeds and some chopped scallions.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure to use unsalted peanut butter or the peanut sauce will be too salty. If you use regular peanut butter, decrease the amount of soy sauce.
