Surprise your friends and family with a new and unique way of serving tuna. Chef Donno's tuna recipe includes beautifully braised tuna steaks on a bed of hot, garlicky cucumber spaghetti, covered with a savory herb sauce.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 4 tuna steaks, prepared for braising
  • Premade shredded cucumber spaghetti
  • Butter
  • Minced garlic (to taste)
  1. Step 1

Put a generous pat of butter in a hot skillet or frying pan and allow it to melt. Place the tuna steaks in the pan and saute them for about 3 to 4 minutes, until they're somewhat brown and crispy on the edges. Flip the tuna steaks over carefully and saute the other side.

  2. Step 2

Cut into the tuna steaks with a sharp knife to test for readiness. Remove the steaks from the heat when they're cooked through.

  3. Step 3

Place another pat of butter in a separate skillet or frying pan, and allow it to melt on medium heat. Stir in the minced garlic and saute it for 1 to 2 minutes.

  4. Step 4

Add the shredded cucumber spaghetti to the hot garlic and butter. Turn the heat up and saute it until it's tender, but still crisp and green.

  5. Step 5

Place a mound of sauteed cucumber spaghetti to the side of a serving plate and put the tuna steak so that it slightly overlaps the cucumber spaghetti.

  6. Step 6

Pour some herb sauce across the middle of the tuna steak, so that the steak and the green of the cucumber spaghetti still show.

  7. Step 7

Serve the cucumber spaghetti and tuna steaks immediately.

Tips & Warnings
  • Tuba steaks can be slightly pink in the middle, so don't overcook them. If they're cooked too much, they can dry out and lose flavor.
