If you enjoy sausage and want to try something different, consider Greek sausage (Loukaniko). Made from beef and pork with seasonings such as parsley, anise and orange, Greek sausage can bring a decidedly different flavor to your dinner table.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Greek sausage vegetable bake
  • Chopped scallions or green onions
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Microplane grater
  • Freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • Merlot wine (optional)

Step1
Remove the pan of Greek sausage vegetable bake from the oven when cooked through and golden brown (approximately 50 minutes of cooking time).
Step2
Allow the Greek sausage vegetable bake to cool for 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
Step3
Use a large spoon or spatula to place a serving of the Greek sausage vegetable bake on an individual dinner plate. Place the entrée in the center of the plate for the best presentation. Clean off the edge of the dinner plate with a kitchen towel.
Step4
Sprinkle freshly chopped scallions or green onions over the top of the Greek sausage vegetable bake. Lightly sprinkle the scallions or green onions around the edges of the dinner plate.
Step5
Season the Greek sausage vegetable bake with freshly ground black pepper. Grate fresh parmesan cheese with your microplane grater on top of the Greek sausage vegetable bake.
Step6
Serve hot with a garden salad and crusty bread. Offer your guests a glass of Merlot wine to accompany the Greek sausage vegetable bake. The flavor of the Merlot compliments the flavors of the sausage.
