Cover lasagna before you bake it in the oven so the sheets of pasta will steam and cook through. Making sure the dish is tightly covered is especially important if you are using the "no-boil" method of cooking lasagna in which the noodles are raw before they enter the oven.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Aluminum foil
  • Nonstick cooking spray
  1. Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Put a top layer of cheese on the lasagna before you cover it.

  2. Step 2

Spray the underside of the aluminum foil that will cover your cooking dish with nonstick cooking spray. This prevents the cheese from sticking to the aluminum foil while the lasagna is baking.

  3. Step 3

Wrap the sides of the aluminum foil tightly around your dish. Make sure it is sealed so that the steam stays trapped inside the pan and cooks the noodles thoroughly.

  4. Step 4

Put the covered lasagna in the oven and let it bake for 45 to 55 minutes.

  5. Step 5

Uncover the dish and let it cool for 10 to 15 minutes before serving. Letting the lasagna stand for a few minutes allows the ricotta cheese to firm before cutting it into pieces.

Tips & Warnings
  • Check the lasagna noodles before removing the dish from the oven. Poke the noodles with a fork or toothpick to see they are tender and cooked thoroughly.
